Dr. Mustafa GÖKÇE,a Dr. Levent KORKMAZa
aKardiyoloji ABD, Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, TRABZON When performing coronary angiogaphy, different kind of cathe-ters may be used to engage coronary arteries. Generally, coronary angiography can be performed easily by using 2 or 3 different types of catheters. In order to see coronary artery lumens some radiocontrast agents are used. Recently, there is a huge improvement in these agents, therefore we have courage to use these agents in the high risk patients group since adverse event may occur less than previos agents. During the coronary angiography, response to some vasoactive agents by the coronary arteries can be evaluated and taking into account of these responses it may possible to get information about the function of the coronary arteries. Keywords: Coronary angiography, catheters, radiocontrast agentsTurkiye Klinikleri J Int Med Sci 2007, 3(42):9-16
