Adrenocortical Glandular Disease And Heart
Dr. Türkay ÖZCAN,a Dr. Oben DÖVENa
aKardiyoloji ABD, Mersin Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, MERSİN In cardiovascular endocrinology, clinical observations and scientific investigations related to treatment options are scant. The endocrines play a vital role in the regulation of normal metabolic processes through the actions of their hormones. It is not surprising therefore that a malfunction in an endocrine gland or in its hormones has an effect on cardiovascular circulation. Cardiovascular anatomic and physiologic changes are likely to occur during the course of adrenocortical glandular diseases including Cushing syndrome, Addison’s disease, Pheochromocytoma, Hyperaldesteronism. This association should be kept in the mind in patients presented either with adrenal glandular diseases or cardiovascular disorders. Keywords: Cushing syndrome; addison disease; pheochromocytoma; hyperaldosteronismTurkiye Klinikleri J Int Med Sci 2007, 3(33):15-20
