Silent Myocardial Ischemia
Dr. B. Yılmaz CİNGÖZBAYa
aKardiyoloji Servisi, GATA Haydarpaşa Eğitim Hastanesi, İSTANBUL Asymptomatic (silent) ischemia is usually a component of coronary syndromes either acute or chronic. Presence of prevalent coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction is frequently demonstrated in autopsies of clinically asymptomatic patients. The mechanism of silent myocardial ischemia could not be clarified yet. Silent ischemia was classified into three classes by Cohn. Prognostic and clinical significance of silent ischemia is as similar as symptomatic ischemia. Myocardial ischemia associated with high risk either silent or symptomatic should be diagnosed and treated. Keywords: Myocardial ischemia; myocardial infarctionTurkiye Klinikleri J Int Med Sci 2007, 3(15):50-52
