Interventional Therapy At Acute Myocardial Infarction

Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) was introduced as a reperfusion strategy in acute myocardial infarction at the mid-1980s. Randomized clinical trials have shown that PCI is superior to thrombolysis and strongly recommended as the reperfusion strategy of choice for patients with acute myocardial infarction at centres experienced in interventional management.
