Ventricular Premature Complexes And Ventricular Tachycardia
Dr. Özgür BAYTURAN,a Dr. Uğur Kemal TEZCANa
aKardiyoloji AD, Celal Bayar Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, MANİSA Ventricular arrhythmias spans a wide range from simple prematur ventricular complexes (PVCs) to sustained and nonsustained ventricular tachycardia (VT). PVCs are diagnosed when a wide and bizarre QRS complex appears prematurely without a preceding ectopic P wave. PVCs are the most common ventricular cardiac arrhythmia and may be observed in practically every individual some time during her/his life. This arrhythmia is uncommon in children but its incidence increases with age. In a healthy military population, with a range of 0.5% among those under the age of 20 years to 2.2% of those over 50 years of age. The incidence, frequency and complexity of ventricular arrhythmias were greater in the presence of known or suspected heart disease, and mortality risk implications were absent in those without heart disease. Keywords: Arythmia, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular premature complexTurkiye Klinikleri J Int Med Sci 2006, 2(33):72-76
