General Information About Permanent Pacemaker

Pacemaker implantation is the main treatment of conduction disordes of the heart. When the first pacemaker was implanted in 1958, the primary aim was to treat bradyarrhythmias. But now, modern pacemakers can be used to prevent and treat tachyarrhythmias as well. A pacemaker consists of two main parts; pulse generator made of batery and electronic circuits, the second part is the leads which connect the pulse generator to the heart.
