Three-dimensional Echocardiography

Three-dimensional echocardiography is a technique which is in evolution. There are two types of data formation. The first is collection of two-dimensional image planes and reconstruction of three dimensional images and the newest method is obtaining three-dimensional images. The expected advantages of three-dimensional echocardiography are; characterization of complex congenital heart disease, identification of flail leaflets, detection of endocarditis and its complications, quantitation of the correct ventricular shapes and volumes.Keywords: Cardiac imaging, three-dimensional echocardiographyTurkiye Klinikleri J Int Med Sci 2005, 1(42):37-38
