Hypertension In Pregnancy
Dr. Esmeray ACARTÜRK,a Dr. Mesut DEMİRa
aKardiyoloji AD, Çukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, ADANA Hypertensive disorders in pregnancy are the most important causes of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. According to the JNC 7 Report hypertension in pregnancy is classified into 5 groups as chronic hypertension, preeclampsia, chronic hypertension with superimposed preeclampsia, gestational hypertension and transient hypertension. Differential diagnosis of the groups in the decision making is important for the treatment and evaluating the prognosis. The treatment strategies vary depending on the level of the blood pressure, gestational age and the presence or absence of risk factors in mother and fetus. The choice of antihypertensive drugs is driven by the safety of the fetus. In this review, hypertension and its treatment in pregnant woman have been discussed. Keywords: Hypertension, pregnancy, antihypertensive treatmentTurkiye Klinikleri J Int Med Sci 2005, 1(33):58-64
