Pacemaker Mode Selection

There have been great developments of the functions, varieties and features of pacemakers for last fifty years. Furthermore, spectrum of pacing indications has been enlarged since the first years. The appropriate mode selection has become more important considering its effects on atrioventricular synchronization, exercise tolerance, life quality, cardiovascular mortality, and heart failure as well as the incidence of pacemaker syndrome, atrial fibrillation, thromboembolism, and stroke.
