Standard basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a coordinated integration of airway management, rescue breathing and chest compression induced circulation. This technique has proven to be life saving. However, CPR is performed infrequently by bystanders, and when it is performed , the quality is disappointing. CPR is a complex technique and there fore it is difficult to teach, learn and perform under the best of circumstances.
