Treatment By Carto System

A new nonfluoroscoping electroanatomical cardiac mapping system (CARTO) has been recently introduced in the mapping and radiofrequency catheter ablation of cardiac arrhytmias. This system makes the 3D definition of the space where the tachycardia takes place and it helps to define the tachycardia mechanism. This helps the catheter ablation to be faster and more successful. CARTO system is useful for the ablation of scar dependent macroreentrant atrial and ventricular tachycardias, atypical atrial flutter and atrial fibrilation. It is also used successfully in cases of unsuccessful or recurrency resulting catheter ablation with conventional methods for typical atrial flutter .idyopathic ventricular tachycardias and ectopic atrial tachycardia.Keywords: Arrhythmias, electroanatomic mapping, catheter ablationTurkiye Klinikleri J Int Med Sci 2005, 1(15):110-115
